Social, physical and emotional factors such as lack of resources and support, stress and crisis, child behavioral difficulty, and certain parental characteristics can often challenge a parent's coping skills. The Promoting Safe & Stable Families program exist to serve families impacted by these circumstances. Their motto is "Think of the child first." and their program is a unique family centered intervention that helps parents to become the driving force behind the planning process to meet their children's needs. The program goals are to:

- Teach parents a new way of planning
- Knows about community resources.
- Advocates with families for services.

- Assists by strengthening the family's informal support systems rather than depending soley on professional support systems.
