Employment Program Recognizes Youth Workers
On July 29th, an awards luncheon was held to recognize forty-four youth workers for their participation and success in First State's Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). Youth workers, community partners and presenters each received certifications acknowledging their valuable contributions to the program. It's more than a pay check: Summer Youth workers gain professional skills and training
On Wednesday, July 15th First State Community Action Agency held a professional development in-service for the youth workers in the Summer Youth Employment Program. About 45 youth participated in sessions on college prep, career planning, money management and financial literacy, leadership developmental and asset building, mock interviews, entrepreneurship, and conflict resolution. Sussex SUCCESS is a family FED!
Because no family in our community should ever go hungry.... Georgetown- On June 25, 2015, First State Community Action Agency distributed boxes of food to benefit Sussex County households.
