First State Blesses the Children
First State Community Action Agency was fortunate to receive funds through the WBOC-TV Bless Our Children campaign to help families in need during the holidays. The agency identified 21 Kent and Sussex county families, many of whom encountered hardship, tragedy, or loss. Within these families, 56 children, will wake up to a bright Christmas with new toys, warm clothing, and gifts under the tree.

Community members meet to improve Criminal Justice System
On December 1st, a Public Forum was held for community members to discuss ways to improve the criminal justice system. The forum was held at First State Community Action Agency in Georgetown where more than 90 community members met to share their ideas on how to make the criminal justice system more equitable, how to improve public safety, and comments on research presented in the October and November informational hearings.
