First State Community Action Agency’s Senior Companion Program is now recruiting individuals age 55 years old and older to be a Senior Companion volunteer! Individuals must be willing to volunteer at least 15 hours a week, providing non-medial support and assistance to elderly, frail, and/or disabled individuals. Recognizing Summer Youth Workers

Georgetown: On Wednesday, July 27, First State Community Action Agency recognized forty-five teen workers for their participation and achievements in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). These Sussex County teens, ranging between ages 14-18, were afforded the opportunity to gain job training, employment experience, and income through funding provided by the Delaware Department of Labor. Energy Education Workshop for Kids
On Thursday, June 30, 2016 First State Community Action Agency, in partnership with Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility, hosted an Energy Workshop for Children in Georgetown, Delaware. Providing Cooling Relief (ACs) to Delaware Families
Cameras followed the Summer Cooling crew as they installed air conditioner units in Kent County today. One of the homes was that of 79 year old Pam Ashworth who spent the last few weeks fighting the unbearable heat since her central air unit malfunctioned.
