First State Committed to Building Wealth, Employment and Housing Opportunities
First State's Housing Counseling Manager, Marva Hammond, was recently awarded a scholarship by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) to attend a Fair Housing Training in Dallas, TX. The NCRC, along with its grassroots member organizations, works with community leaders, policymakers and financial institutions to champion fairness in banking, housing and business and to create opportunities for people to build wealth.

Michelle Johnson has diligently served First State Community Action Agency and communities in Sussex county for nearly 17 years. As a community development specialist, she builds essential partnerships and provides low-income, unincorporated communities with access to important resources, training, advocacy, grassroots organizing and revitalization to improve the conditions of local neighborhoods.
