Fifteen (15) Milford and Indian River high school students, all participants in First State's "Now We're cooking" culinary arts program, proudly received certificates of completion this week during a celebration held at the Central Sussex Training Center in Georgetown.
STUDENT SUCCESS: Three students are now ServSafe Certified, a national certification for safe food handling and prep. Five students have already obtained summer and/or post-secondary jobs. School administrators, family and friends came to support these students as they served up a hot delicious meal they prepared with the help and tutelage of Chef Instructor, Charles Webb. First State Community Action Agency would like to congratulate all the student graduates in our 2018 Now We're Cooking culinary arts program for their dedication to learning and success!! Special thanks to the local school districts, administrators and teachers who make this partnership and program possible! The Now We're Cooking" program is a first-rate, vocational food service training program designed to help students with special needs gain critical job skills and prepare for the workforce in food service.
