Common Cause Delaware honors two Outstanding Women...

Common Cause Delaware honored Bernice Edwards and Charlotte King at its annual awards reception on Wednesday, Oct. 26th at The Clubhouse at Baywood Greens.


Ms. Edwards, the Executive Director of First State Community Action Agency, received the Public Service Achievement Award for her decades of work helping people build community and making America a better place to live. The award was presented by U.S. Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester.


The founder of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice, Ms. Charlotte King, received the John Gardiner Lifetime Achievement Award for her lifetime commitment to advancing racial justice and strengthening the nation’s democracy so that it works for everyone. Kathleen and Preston Schell presented the award.
