Our Executive Director, Bernice Edwards, and Michelle Taylor, President & CEO of United Way of Delaware, coauthored an impactful opinion piece in Delaware Online on how summer learning loss—the “summer slide”—can be prevented when children stay engaged through enriching programs.
At First State, we are proud to partner with United Way and bring the Children's Defense Fund Freedom School to life—a transformative summer program that nurtures young scholars through culturally relevant reading, character development, civic engagement, and more   .
