First State Community Action Agency is helping Delaware residents prepare for opportunities in the food service industry through our Adult Culinary Arts Training Program.

This program is designed for adults who are ready to build practical skills, gain hands-on experience, and take the next step toward employment. Over the course of 14 weeks of evening classes, participants receive training that supports both technical culinary skills and workplace readiness.

The Adult Culinary Arts Training Program includes hands-on training in a commercial kitchen, instruction from a certified chef instructor, soft skills development, internship training, assistance with job placement, field trips, and the opportunity to earn ServSafe Certification and Alcohol Beverage Server Training Certification.

For many participants, workforce development is about more than learning a trade. It is about gaining confidence, building a path forward, and preparing for long-term stability through meaningful employment. Programs like this help connect individuals with the skills, support, and opportunities they need to move forward.

Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 2 PM to 6 PM at 211 North Race Street in Georgetown, Delaware. The program start date is to be determined.
