Yesterday, First State Community Action Agency joined Housing Alliance Delaware and housing advocates from across the state for Day for Housing 2026 at Legislative Hall in Dover.

Organized by Housing Alliance Delaware, the event brought together professionals working in affordable housing development, housing counseling, homelessness services, eviction prevention, emergency shelter, financial empowerment, and community support with one shared goal: advocating for safe, stable, affordable housing for all Delawareans.

Housing impacts every part of life. It impacts health, education, employment, safety, mental health, and family stability. Strong communities begin with stable homes, yet too many Delaware families continue to face rising housing costs, limited affordable options, and barriers to long-term stability.

At First State Community Action Agency, we see these challenges every day. We work alongside individuals and families navigating housing instability, financial hardship, unsafe living conditions, and economic uncertainty. Through housing support services, advocacy, financial assistance programs, and community action initiatives, we help people build stronger foundations for themselves and their families.

Day for Housing is important because it creates space for real conversations about real needs facing communities across our state. It brings advocates, service providers, and lawmakers together around solutions that can create lasting impact for Delaware families.

We were proud to sponsor and support this important event and grateful to stand alongside so many organizations and advocates working every day to strengthen housing opportunities across Delaware. 💙💛
